Fostering Families Today hosts three Facebook discussion groups for the foster, adoption and kinship care community.
Fostering Parenting Toolbox
(12,000+ members)
An active discussion group where you can find tools, advice and resources to inform the foster care experience.
Our aim is to create a comfortable space where all can discuss the unique challenges that foster, adoptive and kinship families face. The members of our community are diverse: current and former foster parents, former foster youth (FFY), adoptees, trainers, case workers, Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASAs), and others who have a connection to the foster care system.
To join, you must be at least 21 years old and connected to the foster care system or kinship care in some way. If you are a foster parent, you must have completed classes and passed your first home visit before joining. (If you have not gotten that far yet, we recommend the Facebook group “Thinking of becoming a foster parent?” to get started.)
Kinship Parenting Group
(3,700+ members)
A place to discuss special challenges, resources and advice related to kinship care. Our aim is to create a comfortable, participatory space where kinship parents can support one another.
To join, you must be at least 21 years old and connected to kinship care in some way.
