Fostering Families Today is a comprehensive foster care magazine offering resources, expert opinions, practical advice and information on the latest evidence-based best practices for supporting children and youth who come from traumatic backgrounds.

Published by nonprofit journalism organization Fostering Media Connections, the Fostering Families Today magazine is printed every other month and shipped directly to the homes and inboxes of foster care families and resource families all across the country. Our foster parenting magazine was created just for all families navigating the complexities of the foster care system, whether they are kinship caregivers or adoptive parents. It has been in print for nearly two decades and has won numerous awards.

Our past issues have covered the topics of childhood trauma and attachment, foster youth mental health, navigating relationships with birth families, foster reunification, aging out of the foster care system, challenges unique to kinship care, and adoption resources. Fostering Families Today aims to uplift a variety of voices, whether they come from the lived experiences of foster youth or the expertise of foster care professionals.

If your social services agency would like more information about how you can provide our foster care magazine and resources to your foster, adoptive and kinship parents, contact us online, via email at [email protected] or by phone at 213-379-5359.

As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, we are dependent on the generosity of foundations and individuals like you. If you’d like to support our work, please consider making a donation.
