Care For Kinship Caregivers

Emani Donaldson is the kinship care placement manager at Amara in Washington. As an AmeriCorps Alumni, a mother and chair of the City of Tacoma’s Commission for Immigrant and Refugee Affairs, she is passionate about public service and efficiently organizing and mobilizing the community to advocate for systemic change. Donaldson truly believes in centering service work around community collaboration and exemplifying the voices of the people she serves and represents. She is grateful to represent Amara’s kinship work in the community and provide programmatic practice improvement direction for their kinship work. Amara is a nonprofit serving kids and families during some of the most difficult times of their lives. Amara began more than 100 years ago as an orphanage, and it now serves hundreds of foster and kinship families, as well as families that may be at risk of entering the foster care system. https://amarafamily.org/
