Beyond Barriers

Alex Worley spent time in foster care both as an infant and teen. From the age of 15, he remained in care until exiting at 18. Worley attempted to stay on state services to complete college but dropped out after experiencing homelessness and food insecurity. Speaking up about foster care has always been important to him. In 2023, he co-founded the 1999 Collective, which is an organization that supports Utah youth aging out of the foster system. Worley is a self-described jack-of-all-trades professionally, having worked as a baker, teacher, EMT, au pair in Sweden, and currently is an electrician. He loves learning more than anything else in the world.
