Richard Heyl de Ortiz

Richard Heyl de Ortiz, LCSW, is the executive director of Adoptive and Foster Family Coalition of New York, which provides support, information and advocacy for foster, adoptive and relative care families and the professionals who serve them. He is also the father of a child adopted from foster care. In addition to his work with NSYCCC, Heyl de Ortiz is member of the board of directors of Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children of New York State, a member of the Curriculum Advisory Committee for the National CASA Association and a public scholar with the New York Council for the Humanities focusing on issues of foster care, adoption and poverty.
